Breast Revision with Implant Exchange, Mastopexy and Reconstruction of Inframammary Fold
This 37 year-old female previously underwent bilateral submuscular saline breast augmentation many years before giving birth to three children. The loss of natural breast architecture from breast feeding and the large size of the saline implants caused a “bottoming-out” deformity. The implants were removed and the inframammary fold was reconstructed with STRATTICE™ Reconstructive Tissue Matrix. MENTOR® MemoryGel™ Smooth, Round, Moderate Profile Plus (375cc) silicone implants were then placed. In addition, the nipples were elevated through an anchor-shaped scar. The postoperative result at 1 year shows a natural, aesthetic shape to the breast with the implant now sitting in a more natural position on the chest wall.
