Cheek Reconstruction After Skin Cancer
This 69 year-old female was diagnosed with an aggressive basal cell carcinoma of the center portion of the left cheek and lower eyelid. After Mohs Surgery to resect the tumor, she was left with a large defect of the area. A large flap based on the redundancy of cheek skin was performed. A procedure known as a canthopexy was also performed at the same time to prevent the lower eyelid from drooping. She healed well, with minimal scarring. Results are shown at 1 year.
