Breast Revision with Implant Exchange and Reconstruction of Inframammary Fold
This 51 year-old female previously underwent bilateral submuscular saline breast augmentation as a young woman. She felt her implants were too large for her frame and underwent a revision with a non-board certified “cosmetic surgeon”. Moderate profile implants were placed and the resulting deformity showed significant rippling and misshapen breasts. I performed a revision to optimize the fit of the implant within the skin pocket. The implants were removed and the inframammary fold was reconstructed with STRATTICE™ Reconstructive Tissue Matrix. MENTOR® MemoryGelXTRA™ Smooth, Round, Moderate Profile Plus (525cc) silicone implants were then placed. The postoperative result at 1 year shows a beautiful, aesthetic shape to the breast which are full, with no rippling. She is very happy with her result.
