Breast Revision with Prepectoral Conversion of Implants and Fat Transfer
This 30 year-old female previously underwent bilateral submuscular breast reconstruction (with another provider) after being diagnosed with the BRCA gene. Although she was happy to reduce her risk of breast cancer, she was very displeased with the position of her implants. Having been placed below the muscle, she experienced a very wide cleavage with deformity of the chest every time she flexed her chest muscles. The implants were removed and the pectoralis muscle was placed into its original position. A new pocket for the implant was created using Alloderm graft. SIENTRA ® OPUSLuxe™ HSC+ Smooth, Round, High Projection (505cc) silicone implants were then placed in the new position. In addition, approximately 100 cc of fat was processed and transferred from her abdomen using the PUREGRAFT™ system. This created a beautiful, natural slope to the breast with excellent cleavage. The postoperative result at 1 year shows a beautiful, aesthetic shape to the breast with the implant now sitting in a more natural position on the chest wall.
