Blepharoplasty with Ptosis Repair
This 68 year-old female was born with a droopy right upper eyelid, a condition known as ptosis. The appearance was not only very troubling cosmetically but caused significant tension headaches. Often times, ptosis can be corrected with a muscle tightening procedure. Unfortunately previous attempts by other providers were not successful. A procedure known as a frontalis sling, which utilizes a wrist tendon to “bypass” the eye muscles and utilize the forehead muscles to raise the eyelid, was performed on the right side. The postoperative result after 6 months shows a restoration of normal eyelid appearance and function.
