Functional & Cosmetic Rhinoplasty After Multiple Nasal Injuries
This 52-year-old, self-described “surfer chick,” came to us after busting her nose several times riding some gnarly waves over the years. A lifetime of surfing left her with multiple nasal fractures, a crooked, collapsed nasal structure, and serious breathing difficulties. She joked that she had a “smashed wave-wrecked nose” — and she wasn’t far off.
Dr. Pacella performed a comprehensive rhinoplasty, addressing both cosmetic and functional concerns. The surgery involved tip support reconstruction, cartilage suspension grafting, and realignment of the internal nasal structures to open her airway and restore balance to her face.
Post-op, she now breathes incredibly well — both through her nose and out in the surf. Even better, she absolutely loves her “super cute nose,” which fits her face, her personality, and her wave-riding lifestyle. This case is a perfect example of how rhinoplasty can restore form and function, even after years of trauma.
