Minimally Invasive Surgery to Maximize Results

Liposuction is an excellent cosmetic surgical procedure that can help you reduce unwanted fat deposits from specific areas of the body. It is commonly performed for the lower back, hips, abdomen and thighs which can be resistant to diet and exercise. Liposuction can also be performed for “spot” areas such as the chin, neck, arms or knees. The procedure is very satisfying for patients, particularly when their skin has maintained its natural stretch and tone. While liposuction is not a weight loss treatment, it can assist with making clothes fit properly and appear tailored, ultimately restoring your ideal body proportion.

Most liposuction is performed under a general anesthetic, particularly when multiple areas are treated. Smaller areas can be treated with just local anesthesia. Anesthetic solution is injected into the fatty tissue before the liposuction is performed. Very small incisions are made throughout the body based on the determined desired location. A liposuction cannula is gently inserted in the area to be treated, removing the fat with minimal bleeding or discomfort.

Following the procedure, the treated area is wrapped firmly to help reduce pain, bruising, and swelling. You may be required to wear a compression garment for about a month. Full normal work activity may be resumed after approximately 7 to 10 days following the procedure.  Swelling can persist for several weeks after surgery.

Liposuction is one of the most effective ways to reduce unwanted fat from the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, and sides. It is often very effective at reducing fat deposits in areas such as the hips, lower back or thighs that are sometimes resistant to exercise or weight loss.
